Juneteenth, also
known as Juneteenth Freedom time or Independence time, is the vacation that
commemorates this June 19, 1865 declaration of the abolishment of labor at
Texas, and more generally the emancipation of African-American slaves
throughout the Confederate South.
Juneteenth is
recognized as the government holiday or extra period of conformity in most

After reaching independence from Mexico in 1836, TX was annexed into the United
States at 1845, triggering the Mexican-American conflict that next year, and
worsening the dispute at labor that would only be resolved by the Civil War.
