Microsoft and LG are joining the foldable phone transformation

Foldable phones became one of the hottest topic of smartphone industry at the end of 2018. Big companies are announcing new models with this revolutionary technology and they are going to arrive as soon as at the beginning of 2019. a few days ago, we wrote about the announcement of Samsung Galaxy F. Now, another two tech giants Microsoft and LG also joined the game.
Microsoft Andromeda
You may almost think that Microsoft is bringing an Android foldable device because of the name ”Andromeda”. No, Microsoft is staying with their own charismatic Windows OS. But they already closed the Windows Phone project and also didn’t bring any smartphone lately. This one is going to be a real Windows 10 device with some small customizations. The idea is to give you an all-in-one experience with this gadget. It is going to be a smartphone, a tab and a laptop if you add a wireless keyboard and mouse like the Microsoft Surface Pro. So, basically, you are going to walk with a computer in your pocket if this device becomes a reality.

LG Flex / Bendi / Foldi

LG recently patented three names LG Flex, Bendi and Foldi which demonstrates their plan for bringing at least one foldable phone soon which is most probably Foldi. If the others are not foldable, we may see a more advanced concept of the LG G Flex phones released in 2013 and 2015. They have also patented a new design (photo below) which shows a very innovative out of the box foldable display design.

However, LG has been patenting foldable designs for a while now but none of them are yet a reality. So, we need to wait a few more months to see the real deal.
Hint: Foldable phones are so far costly (starting from $1500).
